Chapter 13: Security Systems

The chapter discusses modern museum security systems including alarms, access control systems, CCTV systems and individual object protection systems, It emphasizes security of objects on display and in collection storage including off site museum storage spaces. It concludes that security for museums is easier to achieve today than ever before because of the capabilities of modern systems and the range of features they offer. The chapter also addresses some aspects of physical security in museums.
